By using the Medicin platform, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms. These are the conditions of your access as an independent provider.
You are not an employee, agent, or contractor of Medicin, Inc. You operate as an independent healthcare provider using our technology platform to connect with patients.
You receive $50 per completed connection, paid directly to your bank account via Stripe. Medicin retains a $100 platform fee. No invoicing required — Stripe handles the split automatically.
Clinical documentation is your responsibility. Medicin does not provide an EMR. You are responsible for maintaining your own clinical records, SOAP notes, and any documentation required by your licensing board or malpractice carrier.
As an independent provider, you'll need your own malpractice insurance that covers telehealth. Telehealth-only policies start around $40/month. Don't have one yet? We've got links below to get you set up in minutes.
All patient connections are routed through our HIPAA-compliant encrypted bridge. You agree to handle all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and your own compliance obligations.
You are responsible for your own taxes, including self-employment tax. Stripe will issue a 1099 at year-end for payments exceeding $600. Medicin does not withhold taxes on your behalf.
Medicin, Inc. ("Medicin") operates a technology platform that facilitates connections between patients and independent healthcare providers ("Providers"). By accessing the Medicin Provider Portal, you acknowledge that Medicin is a technology company, not a healthcare provider, medical practice, or employer.
You acknowledge and agree that:
Medicin does not provide an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. You are solely responsible for:
Medicin's platform captures intake data (patient age, relationship, concern) for the purpose of facilitating the connection. This intake data is a platform record, not a clinical record, and does not satisfy your clinical documentation obligations.
As an independent provider offering clinical guidance through the platform, you are responsible for maintaining your own malpractice insurance that covers telehealth services. This is standard for any NP practicing independently — it protects you, your license, and your patients.
Don't have coverage yet? Telehealth-only policies for NPs typically run $40-75/month. Here are trusted providers that can get you covered quickly:
If your current employer provides malpractice insurance, check whether your policy covers independent telehealth work — many do. If so, you may already be covered.
You must also maintain current, unrestricted licensure in every state where you provide services through the platform.
For each completed patient connection, you will receive $50, paid directly to your bank account via Stripe Connect. Medicin retains a $100 platform fee from the patient's $150 total payment. Payments are processed automatically — no invoicing is required.
You agree to comply with all applicable HIPAA regulations when handling patient information received through the platform. The Medicin communication bridge is HIPAA-compliant and masks all personal phone numbers. You agree not to contact patients outside of the Medicin bridge using information obtained through the platform.
Medicin reserves the right to verify your credentials at any time, including board certifications, state licensure, malpractice insurance status, and any disciplinary actions. Failure to maintain valid credentials will result in immediate removal from the provider network.
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may stop using the platform by toggling offline and ceasing to accept connections. Medicin may remove your access at its sole discretion for any reason, including but not limited to credential issues, patient complaints, or platform misuse.
Medicin reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
